Vane Type Demister Introduction
The DynaVaneTM This exceptional style of mist eliminators features a sophisticated assembly of expertly engineered vanes. These vanes are meticulously designed to proficiently separate liquid droplets from a vapor stream through a process known as inertial impaction. As droplets come into contact with the vane surfaces, the gas skillfully maneuvers through a zigzag pathway between the vanes, ensuring unparalleled separation efficiency. Over time, several foundational styles have become industry benchmarks, catering to a variety of specialized applications.


Rhine Ruhr is proud to design and manufacture the following standard DynaVaneTM styles:

  1. The VC single pocket range, featuring elegant chevron vanes without drainage channels, offers a streamlined and efficient separation solution.
  2. The VDC double pocket range is ingeniously crafted with enclosed drainage channels, ensuring superior separation efficiency.
  3. The HC single pocket range provides open drainage, facilitating effective and rapid liquid removal.
  4. The HDC double pocket range is equipped with enclosed drainage channels, significantly enhancing overall functionality and performance.
Droplet Removal Efficiency:
The droplet removal efficiency for specific droplet sizes can be precisely calculated using centrifugal forces and Stokes Law. With advanced computer models, Rhine Ruhr estimates droplet removal efficiencies, enabling the precise optimization of vane geometry to meet any specific duty requirements.
The liquid removal efficiency of the DynaVaneTM series reaches an astounding 99.9% for droplets ranging from 10µ+ to 30µ+
Generally, droplet removal efficiency is enhanced under the following conditions:
  1. Increasing Gas Velocity, which forces droplets more assertively against the vanes, enhancing separation.
  2. Increasing the Gas and Liquid density difference promotes more pronounced separation.
  3. Decreasing Gas Viscosity, allowing droplets to be more readily captured by the vanes.
  4. Increasing Vane Angle, optimizing the impact and capture rate for maximum efficiency.
  5. Decreasing Vane Pitch enhances the thoroughness of separation, elevating the demister's performance.
Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are meticulously custom-manufactured to seamlessly integrate with specific vessel arrangements. Whether installation involves loose segments supported by annular rings and/or beams secured with retainer bars, or vane packs designed for integration with a sealed gas box, each setup is engineered for maximum efficacy and ease of installation.
  1. Loose segments are supported on annular rings and/or beams secured with retainer bars, ensuring stability and performance.
  2. Vane Packs are expertly designed for attachment to a sealed gas box, optimizing functionality.


In each scenario, the complete assembly is thoughtfully designed and segmented to fit through access manways, ensuring manageable and efficient installation within the vessel.
While every component is constructed from lightweight materials to facilitate ease of installation and assembly, the overall build is robust, capable of enduring a wide range of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.

Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM  Mist  Eliminators  are  custom  manufactured  to  be compatible  with  the  required  vessel  arrangement.  Installation can be either:-
·     Loose   segments   supported   on   annular   rings   and/or beams secured with either retainer bars.
·     Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box.
In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel.
Vane  Packs  consist  of  DynaVane
TM  elements  fully  enclosed  in housings  with  built  in  drainage  sump.  Although  all  parts  are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly,   the   overall   construction   is   sufficiently   robust   to withstand   most   service   conditions   including   vibration   and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.
