Vane Type Demister Introduction
Introducing The DynaVaneTM This style of mist eliminators is an intricate assembly of expertly engineered vanes, crafted to masterfully separate liquid droplets from a vapor stream through precise inertial impaction. As droplets encounter the vane surfaces, the gas skillfully weaves through a zigzag pathway, achieving superior separation. Over the years, several foundational styles have emerged, setting the industry benchmark for a variety of specialized applications.


Rhine Ruhr is proud to design and manufacture the following standard DynaVaneTM styles:

  1. The VC single pocket range, featuring chevron vanes devoid of drainage channels, offers a streamlined and efficient solution.
  2. The VDC double pocket range is ingeniously designed with enclosed drainage channels to ensure superior separation efficiency.
  3. The HC single pocket range provides open drainage for highly effective liquid removal.
  4. The HDC double pocket range, with its enclosed drainage channels, enhances overall operational functionality.
Droplet Removal Efficiency:
The removal efficiency of droplets for any specific size can be precisely calculated using centrifugal forces and Stokes Law. Rhine Ruhr has developed sophisticated computer models to estimate droplet removal efficiencies, allowing for the precise optimization of vane geometry tailored to any specific duty.
The droplet removal efficiency of the DynaVaneTM series is an extraordinary 99.9% for droplets ranging from 10µ+ to 30µ+
In general, droplet removal efficiency is significantly enhanced under the following conditions:
  1. Increasing Gas Velocity, which propels droplets more forcefully against the vanes, increasing capture.
  2. Increasing Gas and Liquid density difference, promoting substantially better separation.
  3. Decreasing Gas Viscosity, which allows droplets to be more easily captured.
  4. Increasing Vane Angle, optimizing droplet impact and capture rate.
  5. Decreasing Vane Pitch, which improves the thoroughness of separation.
Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are meticulously custom-manufactured for seamless integration with specific vessel arrangements. Whether the installation consists of loose segments supported by annular rings and/or beams secured with retainer bars, or vane packs designed for connection to a sealed gas box, they are engineered for both exceptional performance and ease of installation.
  1. Loose segments supported on annular rings and/or beams are secured with retainer bars for stability.
  2. Vane Packs are meticulously designed for fixing to a sealed gas box, ensuring a secure fit.


In every installation scenario, the complete assembly is thoughtfully designed and supplied in sections, each crafted for easy passage through access manways, facilitating manageable installation within the vessel.
Each component is constructed from lightweight materials to facilitate installation and assembly, yet the overall build remains robust enough to withstand a wide range of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.

Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM  Mist  Eliminators  are  custom  manufactured  to  be compatible  with  the  required  vessel  arrangement.  Installation can be either:-
·     Loose   segments   supported   on   annular   rings   and/or beams secured with either retainer bars.
·     Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box.
In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel.
Vane  Packs  consist  of  DynaVane
TM  elements  fully  enclosed  in housings  with  built  in  drainage  sump.  Although  all  parts  are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly,   the   overall   construction   is   sufficiently   robust   to withstand   most   service   conditions   including   vibration   and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.
