XIESHENG Vapor-Liquid Separator
Many processes require vapor-liquid separation operations to provide effective separation and purification of process products, to protect sensitive process equipment, to reduce product losses and to avoid pollution of the environment.
In each case, the separator is engineered to function effectively with the vessel configuration and design of internals specified to achieve effective separation for the required duty. This entails consideration of the nature of the feed,liquid load, the size range of liquid droplets or mist, fouling consideration and the desired separation efficiency. A range of common separator configurations with typical applications are listed in the table below.
The vessel configurations hereunder are simplified to show typical arrangements only. In most cases the liquid separation device maybe either mesh knitted wire mesh, or Vane plate pack or else a two stage unit comprising the both of them where wider turndown range is required. Type 1 and Type 7 arrangements are also suitable for Spin cyclone separators.
In almost all cases, vessel dimensions, including inlet and outlet nozzle size and locations, are critical to the proper functioning of the separator internals. Proper consideration of the feed inlet design is also critical. Typically this may be either an open nozzle, elbowed pipe with target wear plate, half open pipe or in some cases, especially where high liquid loads and slug flow are anticipated, it is advisable to install Feed vane inlet device.
