Vane Type Demister Introduction
The DynaVaneTM style of mist eliminators is a masterfully crafted assembly of precision-engineered vanes. These vanes are adeptly designed to effectively separate liquid droplets from a vapor stream by utilizing the principle of inertial impaction, as droplets engage with vane surfaces. Throughout this intricate process, the gas skillfully maneuvers through a zigzag path between the vanes, ensuring peak separation efficiency. Over time, several core styles have emerged, becoming the industry benchmark for a multitude of specialized applications.


Rhine Ruhr takes great pride in designing and manufacturing the following standard DynaVaneTM styles:

  1. The VC single pocket range, characterized by chevron vanes without drainage channels, offers a streamlined and efficient solution.
  2. The VDC double pocket range is brilliantly engineered with enclosed drainage channels, ensuring superior operational efficiency.
  3. The HC single pocket range features open drainage, providing exceptional liquid removal capabilities.
  4. The HDC double pocket range, with its enclosed drainage channels, enhances overall effectiveness and functionality.
Droplet Removal Efficiency:
The droplet removal efficiency for any given droplet size can be meticulously calculated using centrifugal forces coupled with Stokes Law. Rhine Ruhr has pioneered advanced computational models that predict droplet removal efficiencies, allowing for precise optimization of vane geometry tailored to specific duties.
The DynaVaneTM series boasts an extraordinary liquid removal efficiency of 99.9% for droplets ranging from 10µ+ to 30µ+
Generally, droplet removal efficiency is enhanced under the following conditions:
  1. Increasing Gas Velocity, which effectively propels droplets towards the vanes with greater force.
  2. Increasing Gas and Liquid density difference, facilitating more pronounced separation.
  3. Decreasing Gas Viscosity, enabling droplets to be captured with greater ease.
  4. Increasing Vane Angle, optimizing the rate of impact and capture.
  5. Decreasing Vane Pitch, refining the thoroughness of the separation process.
Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are meticulously custom-crafted to integrate seamlessly with specific vessel arrangements. Whether the installation involves loose segments supported by annular rings and/or beams secured with retainer bars, or vane packs engineered for integration with a sealed gas box, it is designed for maximum efficacy and ease of setup.

  2. Vane Packs crafted for attachment to a sealed gas box.


In each configuration, the complete assembly is thoughtfully designed and supplied in sections. Each section is crafted to fit through access manways, ensuring manageable installation within the vessel.
While every component is constructed from lightweight materials to facilitate effortless installation and assembly, the overall build is robust, enduring a broad range of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.

Mechanical Design:
DynaVaneTM  Mist  Eliminators  are  custom  manufactured  to  be compatible  with  the  required  vessel  arrangement.  Installation can be either:-
·     Loose   segments   supported   on   annular   rings   and/or beams secured with either retainer bars.
·     Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box.
In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel.
Vane  Packs  consist  of  DynaVane
TM  elements  fully  enclosed  in housings  with  built  in  drainage  sump.  Although  all  parts  are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly,   the   overall   construction   is   sufficiently   robust   to withstand   most   service   conditions   including   vibration   and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.
